Mobile Recording

Overview

The RecordX mobile recording module is designed to allow the recording of Blackberry mobile phones by integrating with providers of mobile recording client based applications. Aspire’s focus is to provide integration with one of the major solutions on the market, Voxsmart. The Voxsmart solution does not impact on the actual mobile phone call, it generates an automatic conference call to a pre-configured number which is then answered on site by the RecordX system. This solution requires the RecordX Active Mobile Recording Module.

FSA regulation stating that traders of shares and hedge funds must record mobile calls will take effect on November 14th 2011. From that point members will have 12 months to research and commission the mobile recording system.

Voxsmart & RecordX – How It Works

The Voxsmart system works by providing the mobile user with an application that automatically creates a conference call each time an outbound or inbound call occurs on the mobile handset. The conference call number is configured to be a DDI number hosted on ISDN2 or ISDN30 circuit(s) located at the customers site. These ISDN2/30 circuits are connected directly to the voice recorder and not a PBX. By connecting it directly to the voice recording system, the RecordX system can answer the call using an active ISDN2 or ISDN30 line card. It can then record the call by acting as the silent 3rd party within the 3-way conference call.

Notes on Outgoing Recording:

  • No re-routing of the actual mobile call.
  • Customer/maintainer must install ISDN2/30 circuits with associated DDI number
  • No additional phone bill however mobile carrier will charge for conference call costs.
  • RecordX server will require one available PCIe slot to accommodate active line card. Over 8x ISDN2 channels (4 circuits) will require a second PCIe slot.
  • The search filters for playback will include date, time, duration and recorded mobile device number.
